Vascon Engineers Shares Jump After Securing ₹660.79 Crore Qualcomm Contract

Vascon Engineers Ltd has secured a major contract from Qualcomm India Private Limited, bolstering its order book with one of the largest single deals for the year. The Pune-based contractor announced it will take on the design and construction of an office project in Bengaluru, highlighting the continued strength and resilience of the city's commercial real estate market amid wider sectoral slowdowns.

The new project, awarded on a guaranteed maximum price basis, is valued at Rs 660.79 crore. According to Vascon’s exchange filing, dated September 25, 2026, the scope includes development of Block K, comprising three basement levels and twelve floors above ground along with associated infrastructure. Vascon has been allotted 30 months from the date of site handover to deliver the project, ensuring a steady workflow and revenue recognition over the next two-and-a-half years.

The company’s shares traded at Rs 34.55 on Friday, up 3.78 percent, after reaching an intraday high of Rs 38.00. The opening price was Rs 37.00, with a low of Rs 34.06 for the session, and Vascon’s market capitalization now stands at about Rs 800 crore.

This contract comes at a critical time for the company, which reported a subdued first quarter for FY27. Vascon’s consolidated revenue fell sharply by 31.30 percent year-on-year to Rs 151.94 crore in Q1 FY27, compared to Rs 221.18 crore in Q1 FY26, reflecting project execution delays particularly in two major government works affected by liquidity and cash flow issues. Net profit for the quarter dropped by 91.05 percent to Rs 2.01 crore, down from Rs 22.47 crore the previous year, while earnings per share declined to Rs 0.09 from Rs 0.99.

The Qualcomm contract adds significant diversity to Vascon’s order pipeline, pushing its total external order book close to Rs 3,500 crore from about Rs 2,850 crore previously. Notably, roughly 77 percent of Vascon’s existing projects are with government clients, so landing a high-profile private sector client like Qualcomm helps dilute exposure to public sector capex and provides a potential reputational boost with other multinational tenants in India’s technology hubs.

Bengaluru’s office market continues to witness robust demand from global technology and semiconductor companies, bucking weakness seen in other real estate segments. For construction companies like Vascon, who have traditionally relied on government projects such as hospitals, metro depots, and housing, such private deals help balance their portfolio and reduce concentration risk - a key consideration for analysts and investors tracking the sector.

Founded nearly four decades ago and headquartered in Pune, Vascon Engineers is listed on both the NSE and BSE. The company has delivered more than 225 projects totaling over 45 million square feet across government and private sectors, with a real estate arm focused on residential and commercial developments in Mumbai and Pune. The latest mandate from Qualcomm not only strengthens Vascon’s short-term revenue visibility but may also enhance its credibility for future commercial office opportunities in India’s thriving technology markets.
