Stellantis to Invest Rs 4,000 Crore in India, Launch 12 Jeep & Citroen Models by

Stellantis has outlined an ambitious expansion strategy for the Indian automotive market, announcing a planned investment of approximately Rs 4,000 crore under its newly revealed FaSTLAne 2030 roadmap. The investment and strategic vision, unveiled in Chennai on October 15, 2026, mark a shift for Stellantis as it moves from establishing its initial presence in India to aggressively scaling up its operations across manufacturing, engineering, and exports.

Over the next three years, Stellantis intends to introduce 12 new products through its Jeep and Citroën brands, aiming to significantly strengthen its footprint in India’s passenger vehicle segment. The product pipeline includes seven all-new vehicles and five major updates, spanning B-, C-, and D-segment SUVs, an MPV, an A-segment car, and a premium pickup. The company confirmed that the first new launch is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027, with future model names and specifications to be announced closer to their respective debuts.

The FaSTLAne 2030 plan allocates five launches to Jeep and seven to Citroën. Jeep will focus on consolidating its premium SUV positioning, introducing models with both established and advanced powertrains while maintaining its hallmark SUV capabilities. Citroën, on the other hand, targets India’s mainstream segments with a portfolio centered on comfort, technology, distinctive design, and affordability tailored to Indian consumers.

Stellantis said its new Rs 4,000 crore investment will be spread over three years, raising its cumulative commitment in India from more than Rs 11,000 crore to roughly Rs 15,000 crore by the end of the decade. This expansion comes amid strong business momentum, with Stellantis reporting a 35 percent sequential growth in its Indian operations for the second quarter of 2026. Citroën registered a 68 percent year-on-year jump in retail sales for the same period, according to the company.

Commenting on the announcement, Tianshu Xin, Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis Asia-Pacific, said India remains a vital growth market and a strategic capability base for the group’s global ambitions. Stellantis India CEO and Managing Director Shailesh Hazela added that the company is focused on expanding its market presence through new products, deeper localization, and enhanced customer access.

A key plank of Stellantis’ strategy is a multi-energy product portfolio, with plans to offer internal combustion engines, hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and battery-electric vehicles based on segment and market factors such as customer affordability, infrastructure readiness, and regulatory requirements. The company is aiming for 90 percent localization for its Jeep and Citroën products, leveraging India’s manufacturing and supplier networks.

With manufacturing facilities in Ranjangaon, Thiruvallur, and Hosur, plus engineering and IT centers in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, Stellantis is also looking to grow its sales and service network. The Stellantis Brand House format will facilitate entry into commercially viable Tier-2, Tier-3, and Tier-4 towns. Exports will also increase, with India-developed Stellantis vehicles destined for international markets and around 95 percent of engines and gearboxes from the Hosur facility already shipped overseas.

As Stellantis advances its FaSTLAne 2030 agenda, the group is positioning Jeep and Citroën for a larger role in India’s automotive landscape, supported by expanded localization, a broader product range, and a deeper retail network.
