Nvidia invests heavily in emerging AI technology

Nvidia invested at least $6.5 billion in photonics technology companies in three months to bypass AI rollout bottlenecks. Investments include $2 billion each in Lumentum and Coherent, $500 million into Corning, and participation in Ayer Labs' $500 million funding round. Photonics uses light for data transfer, considered more efficient and less energy-intensive than electricity.
