Kinetic DX 3.1 kWh launched at Rs 1.19 lakh with 132 km claimed range

Kinetic Green has expanded its electric scooter portfolio with the launch of the DX+ variant, featuring a larger 3.1 kWh battery aimed at urban commuters seeking improved range and practicality without entering the premium price segment. Priced at Rs 1,27,650 (ex-showroom), the new DX+ now sits alongside the existing DX variant, which continues with a 3 kWh battery and a starting price of Rs 1,18,599.

According to Kinetic, the headline change comes in the form of the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack in the DX+, which enables the scooter to achieve a claimed Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) range of up to 132 km on a single charge. For real-world usage, Kinetic estimates a range of 105 to 110 km, depending on riding conditions and user habits. The battery is paired to a hub-mounted BLDC motor with a peak power output of 3.8 kW, providing riders with a choice between Range and Power modes for either optimal efficiency or a more dynamic performance.

Charging the battery from zero to 80 percent is said to take approximately three hours, with the Easy Charge feature introduced to simplify the process for everyday users. Another technological addition is Kinetic’s K-Coast system, which delivers regenerative braking by recovering energy during deceleration and boosting efficiency, especially in stop-and-go city traffic.

The DX+ maintains the all-metal body construction that distinguishes the Kinetic DX in a market filled with plastic-bodied electric scooters, preserving its retro visual identity while adding practical updates. New features include Park Assist with Reverse to facilitate maneuvering in tight spaces, a retractable charging cable, and telematics as standard. The scooter offers 37 liters of under-seat storage and is equipped with a 714 mm seat, a one-touch pillion footrest dubbed Easy Flip, and 12-inch tubeless tyres at both ends. For braking, the DX+ relies on a 220 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum brake.

With an IP67 rating for water and dust protection, the scooter is positioned for consistent performance in various weather and road conditions, furthering its appeal as a daily commuting solution. Available in black, silver, blue, white, and red, the DX+ edges out its segment rivals in both range and equipment for its price point, while the standard DX is offered in black and silver.

Kinetic Green has introduced festive offers to support the launch, including a Rs 2,000 benefit on the DX and a Rs 3,000 benefit on the DX+. In addition, the DX+ comes with an extended warranty worth Rs 8,999, a Rs 5,000 Amazon cashback, and a Rs 5,000 PME drive benefit, each subject to specified terms and conditions.

Company officials indicated that the updated Kinetic DX+ is designed for buyers seeking reliable real-world usability without moving to more expensive offerings. With the upgrades, Kinetic Green is aiming to strengthen its foothold in India’s fast-growing electric scooter segment, combining increased range, practical features, and competitive pricing to attract a broader range of urban riders.
