Dwarikesh Sugar to set up a 175 KLPD distillery at its Dwarikesh Dham unit in Bareilly, UP with an investment of Rs232cr. The existing capacity of the unit is 162.5 KLPD with the utilization of approximately 90% and will be completed in 15 to 16 months. This project announced is in line with the Indian government’s commitment to broaden the ethanol manufacturing base in India.

RBI on February 29 said it has imposed monetary penalty on 2 co-operative banks for rule violations. These banks are Noble Co-operative Bank Limited and Adarsh Mahila Co-operative Bank Limited, which were penalised Rs 5 lakh each by the central bank. Adarsh Mahila Co-operative Bank was penalised as the bank had sanctioned a loan where a relative of one of the directors of the bank was interested.
