The company reported total vehicle sales of 5.36 lakh units in August 2026, a 28 percent increase compared to 4.18 lakh units a year earlier. Two-wheeler sales jumped 30 percent to 4.44 lakh units, while commercial vehicle sales rose 22 percent to 92,016 units. Notably, exports played a key role as two-wheeler exports surged 53 percent and commercial vehicle exports increased 39 percent over the previous year. Domestic sales also showed strength with two-wheelers growing by 10 percent and commercial vehicles by 11 percent. For the April-August 2026 period, Bajaj Auto’s total sales increased 29 percent to 24.49 lakh units, supported by a robust 50 percent rise in export numbers and a 13 percent increase in domestic sales.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, whose shares rose 1.47 percent to a high of Rs. 3,370.15, also posted strong August figures and held a market capitalization of Rs. 4,10,364.51 crore in the day’s trade. The company’s total vehicle sales jumped 42 percent year-on-year to 1,07,648 units, including exports. Domestic SUV sales soared 50 percent to 59,257 units, reflecting strong demand across its utility vehicle lineup. Commercial vehicles contributed as well, with light commercial vehicle sales below 2 tonnes increasing 37 percent and the 2 to 3.5 tonne category growing by 20 percent. Three-wheeler sales, including electric variants, saw a 42 percent jump to 14,922 units, and exports surged 71 percent to 6,054 units. For the five months from April to August 2026, utility vehicle sales rose 22 percent, three-wheeler sales grew 62 percent, and exports climbed 63 percent year-on-year.
Escorts Kubota Ltd, a leading tractor manufacturer, recorded a 3.7 percent increase in its stock price to Rs. 3,105.00 per share, bringing its market capitalization to Rs. 33,685.27 crore. The firm reported a 19.1 percent year-on-year increase in tractor sales for August 2026, reaching 10,072 units. Domestic tractor sales were up 20.5 percent at 9,523 units. Sales of construction equipment improved as well, growing 16 percent to 435 units as infrastructure development and government spending boosted demand. For the April-August 2026 period, total tractor sales rose 20.5 percent to 55,665 units, while construction equipment volumes increased 29.4 percent to 2,313 units.
SML Mahindra Ltd experienced a standout month, with its shares rising 4.7 percent to Rs. 5,338.65 apiece and a market capitalization of Rs. 7,626.56 crore. The company’s total vehicle sales soared 40 percent year-on-year in August 2026 to 1,175 units, up from 842 units in August 2025. Cargo vehicle sales grew 53 percent to 492 units, while passenger vehicle sales advanced 31 percent to 683 units, buoyed by strong demand for its commercial vehicle segment. For the April-August 2026 period, total sales were up 14 percent at 8,216 units, with passenger vehicle sales rising 21 percent to 6,198 units.
