Prices of gold inched lower on Monday, reaching close to their lowest level in two weeks touched in the previous session. This comes as an elevated U.S. dollar continued to pressure demand for greenback-priced bullion. Spot gold plunged 0.1% at $1,928.08 per ounce, as of 0033 GMT. U.S. gold futures were dipped 0.2% at $1,930.10. Gold prices fell to their lowest since April 7 on Friday.

Crude oil prices continued to decline even on Monday amid concerns that prolonged COVID-19 lockdowns in Shanghai and potential U.S. rate hikes would dent global economic growth and fuel demand.
