Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have approached the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) seeking clarity on the method used to calculate adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues. "Vi and Airtel informed DoT have asked the government to explain the method used to arrive at the amount. So far, there has been no response from the government," an industry source told The Economic Times.

Godrej Group has launched its housing finance business and aims to build a loan book of ₹10,000 crore, with a customer base of 40,000 within the next three years. The new entity, Godrej Housing Finance (GHF), plans to infuse ₹1,000-1,500 crore in the next three-four years and, subsequently, borrow at competitive rates, said Pirojsha Godrej, chairman, Godrej Properties and GHF.

Tata Power on Tuesday announced its results for the quarter ended September 30, 2020, reporting a 10% increase in consolidated PAT as compared to Q2FY20.  Consolidated PAT stood at Rs371cr up by 10% as compared to Rs339cr in Q2FY20 due to stable performance across busninesses.

Gillette India Limited (GIL) announced Tuesday its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2020. The company delivered sales of Rs516cr, up 12% compared to Q2FY20 behind strong product innovations, trusted portfolio, market recovery and strong execution of brand and retail fundamentals. Profit After Tax (PAT) for the quarter was Rs95cr, up 54% vs year ago.

Footwear major Bata India on Tuesday reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 44.32 crore in the second quarter ended September 30 as it moved towards recovery from the coronavirus pandemic-induced disruptions. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 71.30 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal, Bata India said in a regulatory filing.

Reliance Jio on Tuesday launched its mobile services in Zanskar area in Ladakh union territory, extending its reach to the remotest and isolated part of Kargil, officials said. The company installed four mobile towers in Pibiting, Padum, Akshow and Abran in Zanskar, in Kargil district of the union territory - connecting the isolated area with the rest of the world through high-speed 4G network.

Inox Wind on Tuesday said a committee of its board has approved allotment of non-convertible debentures worth Rs 199 crore to identified investors. The allotment will be of 1,990 rated, listed, secured, redeemable, non-convertible debentures.

American pharma company Pfizer is currently in discussions with the government to distribute its potential COVID-19 vaccine in India. According to a Spokesperson for Pfizer who spoke to LiveMint, Pfizer believes that its candidate has the potential to be an important part of India’s early vaccine response. 

Public sector Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB) on Tuesday said the government has okayed infusion of Rs 5,500 crore capital into the bank in lieu of preferential allotment of shares. The bank is in receipt of letter dated November 10, 2020 from the Ministry of Finance regarding sanction to infuse an amount of Rs 5,500 crore, it said in a regulatory filing.

Wireless subscribers in the country increased to 114.7 crore at the end of August, with addition of 37.44 lakh users, according to the latest data from telecom regulator Trai. The overall telecom subscriber base (wireless and wireline) increased marginally to 116.7 crore in August from 116.4 crore in July, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) said on Tuesday.

Sweden-based Spotify Technology SA has agreed to buy podcast advertising and publishing platform Megaphone, it said on November 10, the latest in a series of deals to boost its podcast platform. The company will use Megaphone's technology to create targeted ads, it said, and will also make its proprietary ad monitoring tools available to third-party podcast publishers.

Six out of the seven land parcels of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim at his ancestral village in Ratnagiri's Khed were sold in an auction held on November 10, sources told Moneycontrol. The auction was held by authorities under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act (SAFEMA), they said.

Healthcare services startup, iKure on Tuesday said veteran industrialist Ratan Tata has invested in the company an undisclosed sum. The company, which delivers primary healthcare services through a network of clinics, digital technologies and trained frontline health workers, said it plans to rapidly scale-up operations across India and globally with fresh funds coming in.
