Adani Enterprises reported rise of 7.82% in top line sales revenues for the Sep-20 quarter at Rs9,126.42cr. Sales did dip in the Jun-20 quarter as most of the companies that it holds ran into a factory and demand freeze. Operating profits for the quarter was up 140% at Rs641.83cr. The net profits for the Sep-20 quarter turned around from loss to profit at Rs435.73cr.

India's largest bank - State Bank of India - registered a 52% rise in net profit in the second quarter of the current fiscal year 2020-21. The bank witnessed a higher interest income and a drop in bad loan provisions. The net profit of the bank jumped to Rs 4,574 crore in the September quarter, compared to Rs 3,011 crore in the same period last year.

Fineotex Chemical, speciality chemical manufacturer, reported a robust growth in its quarter result ending September 2020, announced on Tuesday. Profit After Tax (PAT) for the half year has increased by 55.55% to Rs1920.56 Lakhs from Rs1234.73 Lakhs on yoy basis. Earnings Per Share (EPS) has increased to Rs1.65 per share from Rs1.05 per share. The EPS registered a growth of 57.14 %.

State Bank of India is expected to report profit at more than Rs 3,500 crore for the quarter ended September 2020 amid elevated loan loss provisions. Loan as well as net interest income growth could be slowed to 7 percent and around 8-12 percent respectively YoY, may be lower YoY as year-ago numbers lifted by life insurance business stake sale.

Theatres are now open for private screenings which means you can book an entire cinema to host a party or a get-together. Multiplex operator INOX was the first to launch private screenings which lets people book select INOX theatres for special occasions. At INOX, private screenings can be hosted for Rs 2,999. Occupancies in theatres across most of the cities are in the range of 5% to 7%.

Future Retail Ltd (FRL) has filed a caveat in the Delhi High Court following the Singapore arbitration court's interim stay order on the deal with Reliance Retail Ventures, CNBC-TV18 has reported. Anticipating a move by Amazon, which had got an interim arbitration award in its favour, putting the announced deal on hold, the Future Group firm has moved the Delhi High Court.

Ubs Principal Capital Asia Ltd on Tuesday sold shares of IndusInd Bank worth nearly Rs 148 crore through an open market transaction. On BSE, 23 lakh scrips of the private lender were sold at an average price of Rs 642.85 apiece. This translated into a total deal value of Rs 147.85 crore. The shares of IndusInd Bank were purchased by BofA Securities Europe SA at the same price.

Google has been granted an Indian patent for the automatic expanded language search method. An example of the algorithm: if an English-speaking user searches for a recipe of a Chinese dish, content written in Chinese could be included in the content that was being searched. An authentic recipe of the dish written in Chinese could be found, translated into English, and presented to the user

Care Ratings reported an increase of 5.93% in top line sales revenues for the Sep-20 quarter at Rs75.88cr. While the sales did dip sharply in the Jun-20 quarter to half the normal levels, the revenues in September have shown a bounce back to pre-COVID levels. The operating profits for the quarter ended Sep-20 was 15.42% higher on a yoy basis at Rs39.39cr due to better cost management.

Jagran Prakashan reported fall of 43.8% in top line sales for the Sep-20 quarter at Rs289.10cr. The net profits for the Sep-20 quarter was down 91.93% at Rs10.15cr. The lockdown had taken its toll on subscription revenues to an extent but had a substantial impact on the advertisement revenues and that is likely to take some time to pick up.

Comcast is in talks with Walmart Inc. to develop and distribute smart TVs, according to people familiar with the matter, as the cable giant looks to become a dominant hub for streaming apps. That would put Comcast up against tech companies that already are the major players in the streaming era’s living room—Apple TV maker Apple Inc. , Fire TV maker Amazon.com Inc. & Roku Inc.

Multiplex chain PVR Cinemas has reported consolidated losses of Rs. 184 crore for Q22021 as compared to profit of Rs. 48 crore during the corresponding period of last year. Consolidated revenue for the period ended 30 September fell from Rs. 979 crore to ₹111 crore during the corresponding period of last year, a drop of 88.6%, impacted by outbreak of covid-19 and consequent lockdown.

Ajanta Pharma reported increase of 11.38% in top line sales for the Sep-20 quarter at Rs715.91cr. Being in the healthcare industry; the business was not overly impacted by the lockdown during the June quarter. Hence the impact was limited. The operating profits for the quarter ended Sep-20 were 59.34% higher on a yoy basis at Rs245.92cr due to favorable working capital movements.

The Shanghai Stock Exchange suspended first-day trading in Ant Group on the Shanghai stock exchange just before its scheduled listing Thursday. The exchange cited changes in the financial technology regulatory environment after regulators held a meeting Monday with senior Ant Group executives, including founder Jack Ma.

Adani Total Gas Ltd, the joint venture between Adani Gas Ltd and French energy major Total Gas Ltd will raise $400 million selling bonds to foreign investors to meet its capital expenditure requirement, an official said today. "Over the next five years we need around ₹8,000 crore to fund our capital expenditure. This is part financing for the same," said Suresh Manglani, CEO, Adani Gas said.
