FPIs remain positive on Indian markets

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have invested a massive Rs 35,109 crore in Indian markets in November so far as corporate earnings and reforms measures undertaken by the government to revive investment activities kept the investors'' sentiment upbeat. According to the depositories data, FPIs invested a net sum of Rs 29,436 crore into equities and Rs 5,673 crore into debt segment in Nov so far.

Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), has acquired equity shares of online furniture startup Urban Ladder Home Decor Solutions Pvt Ltd for INR 182.12 Cr.   Reliance Retail has bought 96% holding in the equity share capital of Urban Ladder and has a further option of acquiring the balance stake, taking its shareholding to 100%, the company informed.

The market opened on a huge bullish note during Mahurat trading session with Sensex and Nifty both advancing by nearly 1% each. At around 6.18 pm, Sensex added 380.76 points or 0.88% and Nifty gained above 102.10 points or 0.80%. At around 6.15 pm, Sensex was trading at 43,815.45 above 372.45 points or 0.86%. Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd on Friday reported marginally lower consolidated net profit at ₹615 crore for the quarter ending 30 September, 2020. The Bengaluru-headquartered state-owned firm posted net profit of ₹622 crore in the year-ago period. Info Edge on Friday said its investee company Zomato has raised USD 195 million (about Rs 1,455.4 crore) in funding from six investors including Luxor, Kora and Steadview, valuing the online food ordering platform at USD 3.6 billion. Reserve Bank of India imposes Rs 1 crore penalty on Punjab National Bank

State-run Punjab National Bank on Friday said the RBI has imposed a penalty of Rs 1 crore on it for contravention of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act. "RBI has observed that the Bank was operating a bilateral ATM sharing arrangement with Druk PNB Bank Ltd, Bhutan, (international subsidiary of the Bank), since April, 2010 without the prior approval / authorisation from RBI," it said.
