JSW Energy Limited shares traded 2 percent higher on February 27 morning after the company said its wholly owned subsidiary, JSW Neo Energy Limited, received an order for ISTS-connected solar capacity of 700 MW from SJVN. The project is required to supply power of full contracted capacity within 24 months, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Zenith Drugs made a strong debut, listing at a 39.2 percent premium to the IPO price on February 27. The stock opened at Rs 110 against the issue price of Rs 79 on the NSE SME platform. Dixon Technologies (India) and Whirlpool of India have been downgraded by Jefferies India to ‘Underperform’ ratings in the small and mid-cap stocks space (SMID) post-December quarter performance. During the October- December 23 quarter, companies under coverage of Jefferies posted a strong profit before tax growth of 24% year-on-year, which as per Jefferies was driven by capex.

The aggregate holdings of foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in the Indian stock market decreased to a decadal low. The FPIs now hold around ₹62 lakh crore worth Indian stocks as of January 2024-end, against the aggregate market capitalisation of ₹380 lakh crore.This implies that FPI holdings in Indian equities fell further to 16.3% at the end of January 2024.

Vodafone Idea shares fell a percent in the early trade on February 27 ahead of the Aditya Birla group company’s board meeting to discuss a proposal for a large fund raise. At 9.18 am, the telecom operator's was quoting at Rs 16.7 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), down almost a from the previous session. The board of directors will meet on February 27 to consider all proposals for raising.
