Boeing agrees to buy Spirit Aero for over $4 billion in an all-stock deal

Boeing agreed to acquire Spirit AeroSystems for over $4 billion in an all-stock deal, paying $37.25 per share, to help address its safety crisis. The acquisition values Spirit at around $4.7 billion and is subject to regulatory approvals. The deal will result in the breakup of Spirit, with some assets going to Airbus. The purchase is part of Boeing's effort to reform its safety problems.
