The contribution of small towns or B30 cities to mutual fund industry's average assets under management of over Rs 28 lakh crore stood at 16% as of October-end. State-wise Maharashtra remained the biggest contributor to the assets base, industry body AMFI said. Since last few years, the Securities and Exchange Board of India has been pushing asset management companies to reach out to small towns.

State-run Bank of Maharashtra is expecting only ₹1,000 to 1,500 crore of its total advances to come up for one-time restructuring under the Reserve Bank of India's scheme before December 31, its managing director and CEO A S Rajeev said. The lender had earlier estimated around ₹3,000-4,000 crore from its moratorium book to come under one-time restructuring.

The government is planning to sell up to 10 per cent stake in defence PSU Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd in the current fiscal ending March, an official said. The company got listed on stock exchanges in April 2018 and the government had raised Rs 438 crore by selling 26 per cent stake through IPO. Shares of MIDHANI closed at Rs 193.50 apiece on the BSE on Friday.

Foreign portfolio investors (FPI) have pumped in a net sum of Rs 49,553 crore in Indian markets this month so far on the back of high liquidity coupled with improving global indicators and clarity after the US presidential elections. FPIs invested Rs 44,378 crore in equities and Rs 5,175 crore in the debt segment, taking the total net investment to Rs 49,553 crore between November 3-20.

The government on Saturday said a grant of Rs 107.42 crore has been approved for implementing 28 food processing projects spread over 10 states that are likely to generate jobs for nearly 10,000 people.  A decision in this regard was taken in the virtual meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Approval Committee (IMAC) chaired by Food Processing Industries Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
