NTPC on Friday announced that 150 mega watt (MW) unit of Kameng Hydro-Electric Project of its subsidiary North Eastern Electric Power Corporation is commercially operational. With this, the commissioned and commercial capacity of NTPC group has become 63,785 MW and 63,125 MW, respectively, the company added.

Adani Total Gas (formerly Adani Gas) signed a share purchase agreement with Indian Energy Exchange to acquire 5% stake in Indian Gas Exchange Limited. IGX is an authorised Gas Exchange regulated by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board. The acquisition of 5% stake i.e. 36,93,750 shares of Rs10 each would cost the company Rs3,69,37,500.

Alembic Pharmaceuticals on Friday announced the receiving of US health regulator (USFDA) approval for Midodrine Hydrochloride tablets, which are used to treat orthostatic hypotension. The approved product is therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug product ProAmatine tablets of Takeda Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. Alembic now has a total of 138 ANDA approvals from USFDA.

South Indian Bank on Thursday confirmed a net loss of Rs 91.62 crore for the third quarter on account of higher credit cost. The Thrissur-based lender had reported a net profit of Rs 90.54 crore during the year-ago period. In the preceding quarter, the bank had reported a net profit of Rs 65.09 crore. The operating profit for the third quarter is seen 1% lower year-on-year at Rs 377 crore.

Two health care workers were admitted to hospital after experiencing Adverse Event Following Immunisation (AEFI) on receiving jab of COVID-19 vaccine in Odisha. HDFC Bank share price declined in early trade on January 22 after the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi) levied a monetary penalty on the bank.
