KNR Constructions hit a 52-week high on Tuesday after the construction engineering company said it has won projects worth more than Rs 600 crore for the Chennai Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor Project. At 9:25 am, the stock was up 3.72 per cent to Rs 346, while benchmark Sensex was down 0.19 per cent at 48,087.64 points. The stock scaled a 52-week high of Rs 352.90 earlier in the day.

National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) recorded the highest ever production of 9.99 lakh Million Tonnes Urea in the third quarter of FY21. The plants at Nangal and Panipat achieved their ever best Urea production during Oct-Dec, 2020. Along with increasing production levels, the plant also achieved ever lowest quarterly energy of 6.602 GCal/MT Urea against the previous best of 6.615 GCal/MT Urea.

The Ministry of Finance has released the 10th weekly installment of Rs6,000cr to the States to meet the GST compensation shortfall. Out of this, an amount of Rs5,516.60cr has been released to 23 States and an amount of Rs483.40cr has been released to the 3 Union Territories (UT) with Legislative Assembly (Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir & Puducherry) who are members of the GST Council.

Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited (HDFC) informed the exchanges Monday that individual loan business continues to see improvement during the October-December period. Disbursement growth over the corresponding quarter of the previous year was 26%. For the nine months (FY21) ending December 31, 2020, individual loan disbursements stood at 86% of the same period last year.

Public and private banks have passed on nearly 50 percent of the rate cuts brought in by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) since March 2020. The Central bank undertook multiple, consecutive rate cuts totaling 115 basis points (bps) (1 bps is 0.01 percent) to make borrowing cheaper and stimulate the economy amid the coronavirus pandemic and lockdowns.

The New York Stock Exchange said on Monday it no longer intends to move forward with the delisting of China Mobile Ltd, China Telecom Corp Ltd and China Unicom Hong Kong Ltd. The exchange, in a statement published on its website, said it made the decision “in light of further consultation with relevant regulatory authorities.”

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (FCA) said on Tuesday it will invest $250 million to grow its presence in India with the launch of four new sport-utility vehicles (SUVs) under its Jeep brand over the next two years. The investment will be made to locally manufacture a mid-size, three-row SUV, assemble the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Cherokee vehicles in the country and launch a new version of its Jeep.

Breaker, a popular podcast app, said on Monday it would be acquired by social media company Twitter Inc and shut down its app and website next week. Breaker said on its blog here that people can now transfer their subscriptions to other podcast-listening apps like those offered by Apple Inc and Spotify. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

India’s air passenger traffic is expected to rebound in the next fiscal year though it will widely lag the levels seen in FY16, credit rating agency Icra said. Owing to the low base of FY2021, rising leisure travel and gradual opening up of corporate offices, FY22 will witness a robust YoY growth of about 78% in domestic air passenger traffic and about 164% in international air passenger traffic.

Oil prices were little changed on Tuesday after OPEC and allied producers, including Russia, continued deadlocked talks on February output while fuel demand concerns lingered on amid new COVID-19 lockdowns. Brent crude futures for March rose 8 cents, or 0.2%, to $51.17 a barrel by 0206 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude for February was at $47.74 a barrel, up 12 cents.

Bengaluru-based social media startup ShareChat is close to raising funding from a slew of tech giants such as Google, Snapchat maker Snap Inc and existing investor Twitter, as India's homegrown social media market continues to attract major investments. ShareChat is said to have joined the unicorn club with this fundraise, which values the company at over $1 Bn.

Canada’s Brookfield Asset Management Inc. and New York-based Blackstone Group Lp have both reached the $20-billion investment milestone in India, as they continue to take long-term bets on real estate. Of the $20 billion that Brookfield has invested in India over the past decade, around $7 billion went into real estate, as the firm placed large bets on acquiring assets of property developers.
