Investors pumped Rs 491 crore in gold ETFs in February as they seem be taking advantage of the lower domestic prices caused due to declining international rates, appreciating rupee and reduction in customs duty. Accenture on Thursday announced the completion of its acquisition of Imaginea, a cloud-native product and platform engineering firm that helps companies drive innovation through disruptive technologies. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. Accenture has added approximately 1,350 cloud professionals with its acquisition of Imaginea.

PwC India announced a special one-time bonus for all its 15,000 employees. This unique bonus is an appreciation in a disruptive year owing to the COVID pandemic. Moderna on Wednesday announced the first study volunteers have received modified Covid-19 vaccines designed to better target a more contagious variant of the coronavirus, marking a milestone in the race to stay ahead of the shifting pathogen. The Cambridge, Mass., company, which has one of the Covid-19 vaccines widely in use, plans to enrol 60 people to test the new shot.

Tesla raised the price tag of its Model Y Long Range and Model S Plaid plus by $10,000. The price of its Model 3 Standard Range Plus has been increased to $37,490 from $36,990 earlier and Model 3 Long Range AWD was raised to $46,490 from $45,990. Tesla, however, kept the price of its Performance Model Y in the same range.

Havells on March 11 announced the decision to cover the cost of COVID-19 vaccination for all its direct and indirect employees in India. This will be done through a process of reimbursement. It is the first company in the electrical goods space to announce coverage of its employees. As of FY20, the company had 5,781 employees as per its annual report.

Tata Motors unveiled the Ultra Sleek T-Series range of intermediate and light commercial trucks targeted at urban freight movement with a starting price of Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Developed on the modular platform of Ultra, the T-Series range is offered in three models demonstrating deck lengths of 10 feet, 14 feet, and 17 feet and a good carrying payload of 3.3 to 5.2 tonne.

Samsung Electronics on Thursday developed an innovation lab at Delhi Technological University (DTU) to promote joint research and training on domains such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and computer vision. Hong Kong-based Ares SSG Capital on Thursday confirmed the acquisition of stressed real estate financier Altico Capital India Ltd. This buyout marks the first resolution of a defaulting non-banking finance company (NBFC) outside the country's Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) and represents Ares SSG’s single largest investment in India till date.

Hindustan Syringes & Medical Devices (HMD) confirmed the winning of an order to supply 265 million AD (auto disposable) syringes by Sept this year from the government. HMD, which is one of the largest manufacturers of disposable syringes in the world, will be supplying Kojak AD syringes at about Rs2 per piece. HMD said it is also on track to finish the 3 other orders received from the govt.

Facebook challenged the US Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) landmark antitrust case against the social media platform. The social media company asked a judge to throw out the case, calling it “nonsensical" in its complaint. The FTC’s lawsuit accused Facebook of anti-competitive behaviour and requested the court to break up Facebook’s acquisition of WhatsApp and Instagram.
