The Centre officials clarified the external debt position of India as $267 billion repayments are due in less than one year. While dismissing apprehensions about India's external debt, it said out of India's total external liability of $620.7 billion, the Centre's share is just $130.8 billion, 21% of the total debt liability. India's Special Drawing Right (SDR) allocation is also included in it.

Nomura Singapore, on July 11, bought 12.5 lakh shares of technology services provider BLS International Services Ltd for a consideration of Rs 27 crore via an open market transaction. The global financial services firm purchased 12,50,000 shares of BLS International at an average price of Rs 214 apiece, according to the bulk deal data available with the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

The Bank of India (BOI) sues six directors of Ahmedabad-based Anil Limited for a Rs 710.85-crore alleged fraud case. Crude oil prices decline on Tuesday after reports of new COVID-19 restrictions in China. Moreover, fears of a global economic slowdown also impacted the fuel demand outlook negatively. At 0057 GMT, Brent crude futures for September plunged by $1.47, or 1.4%, to $105.63 a barrel. Star Housing Finance's standalone net profit stood at Rs 1.36 crore in the quarter ended June 2022 (up by 466.67%) in comparison to Rs 0.24 crore posted by the company during Q1FY22. The firm's sales also improved by 16.05% to Rs 4.99 crore in the quarter ended June 2022 as compared to Rs 4.30 crore during the previous quarter ended June 2021.
