Quick Heal Technologies' stock was down 1.9% on September 29. NLC India rose 5% in the morning trade after announcing plans to build 3 power plants in Odisha with a total capacity of 2400 MW. It also executed a 400 MW long-term power purchase agreement with GRIDCO, an Odisha state power undertaking. The land acquisition and construction contractor selection process are underway. For the June quarter, revenue from operations fell 14.15% YoY.

Air India has successfully acquired its first A350-900 through a finance lease transaction with HSBC, facillitated by its subsidiary AI Fleet Services Ltd. This is Air India's first wide body aircraft to be leased through the GIFT City, India's first IFSC. They have ordered six A350-900 planes and their firm orders for 470 new aircraft include Airbus and Boeing Dreamliners.

Saregama India's shares jumped 6% on September 29 due to their acquisition of a majority stake in digital entertainment company Pocket Aces. Saregama, owning the largest music archive in India, has diversified into other entertainment areas such as film production and digital content creation. Pocket Aces specializes in digital content such as web series, sketches, music videos, etc.

Geojit's report predicted that the average CPO prices in 2024, including cost, freight and insurance (CIF Rotterdam), would be about $1,000 per metric ton due to weather patterns, such as El Nino which is expected to reduce output in Indonesia, top CPO producer. Lower supplies of other vegetable oils like sunflower oil due to Russia-Ukraine conflict have further impacted prices.

ARIA's analysis of SEBI enforcement orders shows that 95% are related to investment advisers providing trading calls, suggesting the need to ease regulations on RIAs. Of the 78 orders, 74 were passed against unregistered entities and 22 were for registered entities with nearly all found to provide speculative trading recommendations. Of the 918 RIAs, 78% have had no investor complaints at SEBI.

Emami, headquartered in Kolkata, has bought a 26% stake in Axiom Ayurveda for an unconfirmed amount, signaling their entrance into the juice business. Uno Minda shares jumped 2% in early trade after announcing an increase in stake of jv with Westport to 76%. The increased stake was purchased for about Rs 14.81 cr and is expected to be completed by March 2024. This partnership, integrating Uno Minda's manufacturing and engineering expertise with Westport’s technologies & products, will position Uno Minda as a market leader in alternate fuel.

 On Sept. 29, shares of Dr Reddy's Laboratories jumped nearly 1% at the start of trading after the company added a step-down, wholly owned subsidiary in Jamaica. During Q1FY24, the Indian pharma giant reported an 18.1% increase in net profit, despite a one-time gain of $72M from British drugmaker Indivor for settling patent litigation related to generic drug Suboxone.

Ram Charan Company Pvt Ltd has partnered with Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) to turn emissions from the plant into value-added products and fuel while making it carbon neutral. Meta unveiled its new Meta AI virtual assistant, powered by a custom model based on Llama 2 language model used with public Facebook and Instagram posts for training. The company excluded private posts and private chats from the model in respect of consumer privacy. They also filtered out private details from public datasets and rejected using sites with heavy personal information like Linkedln.

Temasek, a Singapore-based Sovereign Wealth Fund, is selling 8-9% of its stake in Manipal Hospitals to Abu Dhabi fund Mubadala and Brunei Investment Authority, allowing the hospital chain to become India's second-largest healthcare provider. The investments will be used to expand Manipal Group's foot print with greenfield asset projects launching by FY25.
