As businesses like RVNL, Titagarh Wagons, and BHEL emerged as the lowest bids for a tender to produce 200 Vande Bharat trains, railway stocks soared on March 2. With an offer of ₹139.8 Cr per train, BHEL and Titagarh Wagons were the second-lowest bidders. The lowest bidder, a group made up of RVNL and the Russian company CJSC Transmashholding, offered ₹120 Cr per train for the next 35 years.
