This ambitious development in Hyderabad marks the Trump brand’s expansion beyond its previous presence in the markets of Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Gurugram. The company made its initial foray into India’s real estate market through residential projects and more recently unveiled plans for an office tower in Pune, signaling a growing focus on commercial properties as well.
India’s luxury real estate sector has experienced unprecedented momentum in recent years, with demand for high-end residences frequently surpassing supply. Prices for premium apartments in major Indian cities are now comparable to those in parts of New York, and some developments have seen record sales velocity. In July, Oberoi Realty Ltd. reported it sold out its upscale project in Gurugram within two hours, while last year DLF Ltd. said it sold out more than $1 million worth of apartments in less than a week after opening bookings.
“These good times have lasted sort of longer than what most of us have expected. And they continue to go on,” said Mehta, reflecting optimism about the continued resilience of India’s luxury housing market.
The Trump Towers Hyderabad project will be developed through a partnership between Tribeca Developers and local firm Ira Realty. It will feature two 65-story blocks, setting a new benchmark for branded residences in southern India. As with other Trump-branded projects in the country, the Trump Organization itself - now operated by the former president’s sons, Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump - earns revenue through licensing fees for the use of the name, with local partners responsible for development and sales.
With India already the largest international market for Trump-branded real estate outside the United States, the Hyderabad project is poised to further solidify the brand’s presence. As the country’s wealth continues to rise and the appetite for luxury living shows little sign of waning, developers and global brands alike are keen to seize the opportunity offered by this sustained property boom.
