The National Pension System (NPS) appears to be gaining traction in the private sector quickly notwithstanding the ongoing discussion about old vs new pension plans for public employees. The Atal Pension Yojana (APY) & NPS all-citizens-model voluntary subscription programmes are driving the country's pension coverage. The Economic Survey 2022-23 noted the no. of pension subscribers risen 3%.
