Brent crude fell below $100 per barrel for the first time since April 25th as recession worries sparked a larger selloff, sending global oil prices plummeting on Wednesday on worries that a looming recession will reduce demand. Europe's benchmark crude contract, Brent North Sea, fell 3.3% to $99.39 per barrel in mid-afternoon deals, while US counterpart WTI oil also fell 3.3% to stand at $96.12.
