Citi Bank, on Wednesday, confirmed that it inked a deal with Axis Bank to offload its consumer businesses in India for $1.6 billion in cash. The lender was finalised by Citi following an extensive and competitive auction process. Notably, in April 2021, Citigroup revealed that it will exit consumer businesses in 13 countries including India as it focuses on four wealth centres in Singapore,
