Average long-term US mortgage rate reaches highest point in nearly 23 years

Mortgage rates are at its highest since 2000, making it increasingly unaffordable to buy homes. This is the third consecutive week of increased rates and the average 30-year mortgage rate is more than twice what it was 2 years ago. Multiple factors influence mortgage rates including 10-year Treasury yield, inflation expectations, global demand for US Treasurys and Fed rate movements.
