Mercedes Benz was fined A$12.5 million ($8.49 million) by the Federal Court of Australia for neglecting to inform customers that its "possibly fatal" airbags needed to be recalled immediately. The German manufacturer admits to breaking Australian consumer law by failing to make clear to customers the importance of the recall, according to the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC).
