RBI on May 6 said it has imposed a monetary penalty on Odisha Gramya Bank for violating rules. The apex bank imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 1.5 lakh on the cooperative bank, RBI said. RBI said that the penalty was imposed for non-compliance with the directions issued by RBI on ‘Strengthening of Prudential Norms - Provisioning, Asset Classification and Exposure Limit’ and ‘Regional Rural Banks.

Investment in clean technology manufacturing stood at around $200 billion in 2023, an increase of 70 percent from last year, according to a report by International Energy Agency (IEA). The investments were led by solar PV and battery manufacturing plants. The IEA report noted that solar PV and battery manufacturing accounted for more than 90 percent of the total investments in both 2023 and 2022.
