Jubilant Life Sciences on Wednesday announced that the material wholly-owned subsidiary Jubilant Pharma to redeem $100M in aggregate principal amount of the Senior Notes 2021 on January 29, 2021. The subsidiary has given notice to holders of $300, 4.875% Senior Notes due 2021 that it has elected to exercise its option to redeem $100M of the aggregate principal amount.

Realty firm Ansal Properties & Infrastructure Ltd on Wednesday said the company has agreed to sell its entire 66.24% stake in IT SEZ in Greater Noida to Migsun group. The deal is subject to the approval of regulatory authorities of SEZ, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority, and the Ministry of Commerce. The move will reduce the debt of the company on a consolidated basis by Rs 11 crore.

Vistara, the full-service airline venture of Tata Sons Ltd and Singapore Airlines Ltd (SIA), will keep its fleet expansion plan unchanged as it expects air travel demand to rebound from the pandemic-related disruptions that have roiled the industry. Global crude oil markets have lost about a fifth of their value in 2020 as strict coronavirus lockdowns paralyzed much of the global economy. however, prices rebounded due to timely government stimulus. On Thursday, the last trading day of 2020, Brent was trading down 18 cents, or 0.4%, at $51.45 a barrel, and U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) lost 0.1%, or 5 cents, to $48.35 a barrel.

This translates into a total deal value of Rs 469.86 crore.

All-India power demand on Wednesday morning touched a record high of 182.89 gigawatts (GW), said Power Secretary S N Sahai. “Today, the all-India demand for power touched 1,82,888 MW (megawatts), which is an all-time high (observed at 0948 hrs on December 30, 2020) crossing previous high of 1,82,610 at 1458 hours on May 30, 2019. The entire demand was met,” Sahai said in a tweet.

The CBI on Wednesday carried out searches at the premises of infrastructure firm IVRCL, its Managing Director E Sudhir Reddy and Joint Managing Director R Balarami Reddy who have been booked by the agency for an alleged fraud worth over ₹4,800 crore against a consortium of banks, officials said. The agency has booked the Hyderabad-based company and its directors on a complaint from the SBI.

Shareholders of Union Bank of India on Wednesday approved the bank's proposal for raising up to Rs 6,800 crore equity capital to fund business growth. During the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), the shareholders passed the special resolution with the requisite majority for raising capital through FPO /Rights or QIP or preferential allotment, the bank said in a regulatory filing.

India's foreign exchange reserves increased by $51.4 billion during April-September 2020 as compared with $19.1 billion during April-September 2019,  Reserve Bank of India's balance of payments (BoP) data shows. Apart from this, the foreign exchange reserves in nominal terms rose by $66.9 billion during April-September 2020 as compared with $20.8 billion recorded during the same period in 2019.

The Health Ministry has taken various measures to detect and contain the mutant variant of SARS-CoV-2. The ministry on Tuesday stated that all these passengers are being tracked and subjected by States/UTs to RT-PCR tests. So far only 114 have been found positive. These positive samples have been sent to 10 INSACOG labs for genome sequencing.
