Rupee falls 5 paise to 83.01 against US dollar in early trade

The Indian rupee depreciated against the US dollar due to a strong US currency and high crude oil prices. Negative sentiments in the stock market and foreign fund outflows also contributed to its decline. The Reserve Bank of India's decision to keep interest rates unchanged further added to the fall. The RBI also revised GDP projections for FY24 and FY25 and projected lower inflation for FY25.
