Newly listed DAM Capital Ltd. reported its December quarter results after market hours on Friday, January 24, a day when the stock closed below its IPO price of ₹283 per share. The company's total income during the quarter went up by 132% to ₹104 crore from ₹45 crore last year. Net profit for the period also went up by nearly 2.5x to ₹52 crore from ₹21 crore in the year-ago period.

TRAI said it will review the newly introduced voice and SMS-only plans in line with existing regulatory provisions, adding these plans must be reported to the authority within seven working days of their launch. These voice-only plans were introduced after a TRAI directive issued on December 23, urging telecom operators to launch such tariff packs within 30 days.

As a relief to taxpayers, Union Budget 2025 may increase the basic exemption limit, or revised slab rates can be introduced to mitigate the overall tax on middle class taxpayers. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to announce Budget 2025-2026 on February 1. Like every year, salaried taxpayers eagerly await rebates and tax reductions under both the tax regimes from the annual budget.
