Shares of Intellect Design Arena cracked 15.5 percent in intra-day deals on Friday after the company reported weak earnings for the quarter ended March 2024 (Q4FY24).The Chennai-based fintech company reported a 6.6 percent year-on-year (YoY) decline in its net profit at ₹85 crore in Q4FY24 as against ₹91 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

In six years, state-run oil and gas businesses laid off 15,700 workers, or 14% of their workforce, despite a nearly twofold increase in revenue. The impact was greatest on non-managerial jobs. According to data from the oil ministry, the number of employees at state-run oil and gas enterprises fell from 110,000 six years before to the end of 2022–2023 to 94,300.

Japanese technology investor SoftBank Group is expected to slip back into the red when it reports earnings on Monday despite technology stocks including Arm Holdings, its core asset, performing well over the quarter. Analysts and investors are also eagerly awaiting clues about new growth investments as SoftBank has ample liquidity and can monetise its huge holding in Arm.
