High-interest rate FD for super senior citizens: Indian banks, including SBI, RBL Bank, Union Bank of India, Indian Bank, and PNB, offer high-interest rates on FDs for super senior citizens (aged 80 and above), with rates ranging from 7.60% - 8.75%. SBI offers the highest interest rate of 7.60% for super senior citizen FDs with tenures of 2 years to less than 3 years and 5 years and upto 10 years.

Chinese property developer Redsun Properties said on Friday it would not be able to pay its $350 million bond maturing on January 13, which includes the principal and the accrued interest. The bond was issued in January 2021 with a coupon rate of 7.3%. A prolonged property market slump in China over the last three years has been weighing on developers' ability to repay debt.
