The Bank Nifty index witnessed a rebound of 750 points or 1.6 percent on February 14, trading above 45,600 points on the day of weekly expiry. This was led by gains in State Bank of India (SBI), Axis Bank, and ICICI Bank. Public sector banks have been in the spotlight after the budget proposed a lower borrowing program and reduced fiscal deficit target for FY25.
