Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India has appealed against a tax order demanding Rs 7,217.63 crore in GST, Rs 7,760.96 crore in interest, and Rs 721.87 crore in penalty for FY 2018-19. This follows an earlier notice of Rs 178 crore for short payment of GST for two financial years. The appeal was filed with the Joint Commissioner of State Tax, Mumbai.
