ITC posted its earnings for the quarter ended 30 June, 2022 on Monday with a year-on-year consolidated net profit of Rs 4,390 crore. State-owned Punjab & Sind Bank reported on August 1 that it had logged an 18 percent growth in its net profit at Rs 205 crore in the April-June quarter of FY23. The aforesaid growth is said to have been helped by a decline in bad loans. The bank had recorded a net profit of Rs 174 crore in the year-ago quarter.

State-owned Coal India Limited (CIL) on Monday revealed that it produced 47.3 million tonnes (MT) of coal in July this year. The company logged a growth of 11% from the year-ago period. CIL's output in the corresponding month of the previous fiscal was 42.6 million tonnes (MT). The company affirmed it has maintained a double-digit rising streak for four consecutive months of the current FY.

TVS Motor Company logged a 13% growth in total sales at 3,14,639 units in July in comparison to 2,78,855 units posted in the same month last year. The automaker's total two-wheelers sales also improved by 14% to 2,99,658 units last month as compared to sales of 2,62,728 units in July 2021. Domestic two-wheeler sales gained by 15% to 2,01,942 units from 1,75,169 units in the year-ago month.

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the decline in equity and crypto markets may increase. This descent could further increase the risk for algorithmic stablecoins, Tobias Adrian, IMF’s Director, stated. He further added that authorities should regulate exchanges and wallet providers. Ola Electric, Reliance New Energy Ltd, and Rajesh Exports have inked contracts with the Ministry of Heavy Industries. These contracts have been signed under the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for advanced cell chemistry (ACC) battery manufacturing. The government had got 10 bids from companies with offers to set up 128 Gigawatt-hours (GWh) of battery capacity.
