Commerce and industry ministry announced that the Fund of Funds (FFS) for startups committed Rs 7,385 cr to 88 alternative investment funds (AIFs) as of September 24, 2022. Moreover, these AIFs invested Rs 11,206 crore in 720 startups so far. The Ministry further stated that the FFS initiative has been playing a crucial role in mobilising domestic capital in the Indian startup ecosystem.

Tata Capital Financial Services knocked on the door of the Supreme Court on Monday seeking more time for the international arbitral tribunal to decide on the dispute related to the recovery of an outstanding claim of over Rs 334.33 crore from C Sivasankaran and his company Siva Industries and Holdings. Tata group company said without an evidentiary hearing, the arbitration would suffer.

Oil prices became steady during early Asian deals today as indications that producer alliance OPEC+ sought to avoid a collapse in prices. Additionally, a marginal softening in the U.S. dollar tempered an earlier selloff. At 0033 GMT, Brent crude futures improved by 26 cents, or 0.3%, to $84.32 per barrel. The World Bank, on Tuesday, stated that the economic growth in East Asia and the Pacific will reduce considerably in 2022 due to China's slowdown, but the pace of expansion will pick up in 2023. The Washington-based lender forecasted that 2022 growth in the East Asia and Pacific region, including China, to decline to 3.2%, lower than its earlier forecast in April of 5.0%.

Dubai-based Mark AB Capital LLC acquired a 26.48% stake in SEPC by investing Rs 350 crore in the equity of the company. The transaction is part of a restructuring of SEPC according to the stressed asset guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India. Following the commencement of this deal, Mark AB capital emerges as the promoter of SEPC and the existing promoter, SVL, will cease to be a promoter.

Gail India, with its ₹2,015-crore offer, is currently the frontrunner in the bankruptcy auctioning for the debt-laden borrower JBF Petrochemicals. In this two-pony race, the public sector gas transmission company comfortably trumped its rivals at the close of the second round. Notably, the ONGC-IOC consortium more than doubled its bid to ₹1,705 crores from ₹799 crores in the second round.
