Tesla loses to BYD

Tesla's vehicle sales declined 16% in fourth quarter and 8.6% for the full year, trailing BYD's sales, which increased both quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year. BYD delivered 2.26 million EVs in 2025, surpassing Tesla's 1.64 million. Despite the decline, Tesla's stock rose 0.9% as investors focus on CEO Elon Musk's AI and autonomous vehicle efforts rather than the company's core EV business.
