NSE Indices launches Nifty Chemicals Index to track sector performance

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) launched the Nifty Chemicals Index on March 11, tracking the performance of top 20 chemical sector stocks within the Nifty 500. The index, weighted by free float market capitalization, caps individual stock weight at 33% and top three stocks at 62%. It will serve as a benchmark for ETFs and other passive investment products.
