Nissan Said to Plan Cuts Without Resorting to Plant Closures

Nissan plans to repair its finances without closing factories, instead focusing on reducing and consolidating production lines in Japan and overseas to cut costs. The company will also trim employee work shifts, and is making progress on previously announced plans to cut 9,000 jobs globally and reduce production capacity by 20%.
