Movies, TV, OTT generated over Rs 5 lakh crore, created 26 lakh jobs

The Indian film, TV, and online video services industry contributed Rs 514,000 crore (USD 61.2 billion) to the economy and created over 26 lakh jobs in FY24. The sector, including gaming and VFX, is projected to grow at 6-7% CAGR, reaching Rs 147,000 crore by FY29. It also boosts cultural exports, merchandise, and live events, solidifying India's role in the global creative economy.
