Mass market investors now have access to hedge-style mutual funds

Long-short mutual funds have been launched under the Special Investment Funds (SIFs) category, expanding investor choices beyond Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs). These strategies aim to smoothen out returns by taking long positions in rising stocks and short ones in falling stocks, with the past one-year average return being 4.22% and a five-year return of 13.52%.
