Kolkata metro's Purple Line to be completed by 2028-29

The entire 14km Purple Line of Kolkata's metro will be completed by 2028-2029, with tunnel-boring machines arriving in December and being injected in March 2025, according to a metro official. The Defence Ministry has approved the shifting of BC Roy Market, paving the way for the Esplanade station's construction.
