Hyundai India’s royalty outgo to parent co. is at 3.5% of sales revenue

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) paid a record Rs 14,358.19 crore in royalties to its parent company Hyundai Motor Corporation (HMC) in FY23, a 30% increase from FY22. This represents 3.5% of HMIL's sales revenue. In the April-December period of FY24, HMIL paid Rs 8,088.80 crore in royalties. The royalties are paid for the use of HMC's trademarks and manufacturing licenses.
