Green bond issuances fall to two-year low so far in FY24 on fewer incentive

Green corporate bonds saw a sharp decline of 47% in the current financial year due to lack of interest from investors and little incentive for issuers. Only two issuers, Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, raised funds through green bonds worth Rs 500 crore this fiscal year, compared to Rs 2,677 crore last year. Experts blame low greenium.
