Gold rises Rs 500 per 10 gm; silver at Rs 97,000 per kg

Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG) of Japan on Thursday said it has made a capital infusion of ₹3,000 crore in SMFG India Credit Co Ltd (SMICC) through a rights issue to expand business. This investment also includes ₹300 crore directed towards its wholly-owned subsidiary, SMFG India Home Finance Co. Ltd (SMFG Grihashakti).

Haier Appliances India is set to cross the milestone of having a billion dollar revenue in 2024, helped by strong summers, festive season and ongoing trend of premiumisation, and expects ₹11,500 cr revenue in 2025, its President NS Satish said on Thursday. Satish is confident of closing 2024 with a revenue of ₹8,900 cr. Haier Appliances India follows January-December cycle as its financial year.

U.S. stock index futures were lower on Thursday in light trading volumes after the Christmas holiday, as investors took stock of their portfolios and looked for a boost for the final month of the year from the so-called Santa Claus rally. Heavyweight Nvidia dropped 1.1% in premarket trading, while Google-parent Alphabet shed 0.5%.
