Foreign investors pour money into US debt, record highs

Foreign holdings of US Treasuries reached a record high of $9.355 trillion in November, up from $9.243 trillion in October. Holdings increased 7.2% year-on-year and 0.8% month-on-month, driven by Japan, the UK, Belgium, and Canada. Japan topped $1.202 trillion, while the UK and Canada's holdings rose 1.2% and 13%, respectively, with China reducing its exposure by over 10% since the start of 2025.
