FM Sitharaman launches first PM internship scheme centre in Kolkata

FM Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the first PM Internship Scheme facilitation center in Kolkata, aimed at providing end-to-end support for youth internships and career guidance. The scheme, announced in FY26 Budget, targets 10 mn internships over five years. The first round saw 28,141 acceptances out of 82,077 offers. The center will help bridge academic-industry gaps and promote inclusive growth.
