BYD posts best month of sales yet in 2025 with pure EVs a hit

BYD achieved record April sales with 380,089 new-energy vehicles, up 20% year-on-year, as battery EVs (195,740) outsold plug-in hybrids (176,875) for the first time since early 2024. BYD is preparing to launch smart-driving and ultra-fast charging vehicles to boost EV sales. Other Chinese EV makers, like Xpeng and Li Auto, also reported strong sales, while Xiaomi's sales dipped slightly.
