Alibaba, Nio stocks tank nearly 6% amid unrests in China

Hong Kong stocks saw a steep decline during early deals today with the benchmark Hang Seng falling over 3%. The sharp decline in share prices was due to unrest in China over Xi Jinping’s COVID-zero policies weighed on the market. Alibaba and JD.com stock prices tanked nearly 6% in morning trade while EV peers, including Nio, Xpeng and Li Auto, plunged more than 5%.
